TOP OF THE LAKE REGATTA 2025:  REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT HAS NOW CLOSED.  HOWEVER, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO A LATE REGISTRATION PRIOR TO 12 NOON  ON SATURDAY AT THE REGISTRATION DESK AT THE CLUBHOUSE.

If you don't feel like hanging  up your sailing boots for the winter, then this is the regatta for you!  The Albert Sailing Club Top of the Lake Regatta is on again in June and, subject to further rain over the next few weeks, promises to be bigger and better than ever.   So do some rain dancing and then come and join us for this popular winter event and see if you can be the 'Top of the Lake'.

UPDATE ON LAKE WATER LEVEL AS AT WEDNESDAY 18/6/2025

The water level of Albert Park Lake has improved slightly following the rains over the last week.  As of Wed 18th June, the level was 32 cms below the regular full level.  Over recent weeks, all of our regular fleets have continued with regular Saturday racing, but the water level continues to require partially raised centreboards and a drop down to water level for boats launched from foreshore decking. There is also likely to be some floating weed after a recent lake harvest, with the extent in the sailing area dependant upon wind direction in the days preceding the Regatta.

Should you decide that you wish to withdraw your registration based on the above information, a full refund will be issued to you on the condition that you notify the club of your withdrawal (via admin@albertsc.org.au) of your withdrawal  prior to Friday 20th June.

Racing Details

The regatta will run over 2 days (June 21 and 22) and is open to all mono-hull yachts < 5.5metres in length.  The event will see short-course racing at the scenic Albert Park Lake, South Melbourne. The lake provides safe, relatively flat (no waves) sailing, but challenges sailors with wind changes and gusts due to its shallow depth, the island in the middle and the trees and buildings surrounding the race area.  Racing will commence with the warning signal at 13.12 p.m.  on Saturday June 21 and at 10.27 a.m. on Sunday June 22.

All competitors are required to be a current member of a Sailing Club and have a current Australian Sailing Number.  If you or your crew member do not meet these requirements, please notify us on the registration form.

A  barbecue will be available on the club balcony after sailing on Saturday and hot nibbles will be provided after sailing on Sunday. Both are included in the registration fee.

Changerooms are available for males and females, but the club currently has no specific all-abilities or gender neutral  facilities.
